As a Creative Agency, Gallery Chukumekso prides itself as a company that is defined by teamwork. We, at Gallery Chukumekso, have all experimented with working alone in different projects like a yearbook for secondary schools in Nigeria, web design projects for clients, et cetera and we have realized that we get under-paid trying to impress clients. Like in the case of yearbook projects, I have planned the layout of the book, took all the pictures, interviewed those who couldn’t write, developed contents, designed the yearbook, did the back and forth with corrections and went to war with printers. All in the name of building a Creative Agency! But at the end of the project, it is burnout! Moreover, my pocket is not commensurate with the work done.
I went through this routine for 3yrs while meeting fellow creatives who are in a similar business and while rubbing minds with them, I realized what I was getting wrong, at least professionally. Since I showed great creativity and delivery, my work was lacking volume and coverage. I could manage a maximum of 2 yearbook projects a year. But in 2018, I started partnering with creatives like photographers, designers and having a print assistant. Consequently, our work in Gallery Chukumekso improved. We could see through our process and accordingly avoid pitfalls.
Now, Gallery Chukumekso can be regarded as a creative agency with creative partners to create professional and efficient projects. Teamwork is rewarding!
